Deleting an Item

In general, items should not be deleted. Items may be deleted if they were created in error or are confirmed duplicates. When deleting an item due to duplication, all relevant properties must be preserved in the item that is retained.

Steps to Delete an Item

1. Navigate to the Page

Access the specific wiki item that you wish to delete.

2. Locate the Delete Option

In the top-right corner of the page, look for the "More", "Tools", or three-dot menu, and select the "Delete" option.
On many systems, you can use the keyboard shortcut Alt+Shift+D to initiate the deletion.

3. Provide a Reason

A prompt will appear asking you to provide a reason for the deletion. This helps ensure proper auditing and transparency.

4. Confirm Deletion

Click the "Delete page" button to finalize the removal.

Important Notes

  • Always ensure you are certain before deleting an item, as recovery may not be possible.
  • Deleting an item affects its associated links, so proceed carefully.
